1. Open industrial display

2. Embedded industrial display

The embedded industrial display, as the name suggests, must be embedded in the customer's product. The customer's product must have a medium-to-large control cabinet. Our embedded industrial display is only the panel, and the rest is embedded in the customer's equipment. It is fixed with a hook (the large control cabinet only needs to open a large square hole according to the opening size of our embedded display installation diagram). There is no need to open any installation holes elsewhere.


3. Rack-mounted industrial display

Generally speaking, the rack-mounted industrial display is for example: it is installed on a 19-inch cabinet, so its width is standard 19 inches, and the mounting holes are opened according to the standard U number. It is generally used in large cabinets such as telecommunications, power, and large servers.


4. Inverted industrial display

To put it simply, it is installed reversely in the customer's cabinet and equipment. It is an industrial display installed inside the client machine. The difference from the open industrial display is that it has a shell and power supply, and its edge is also different from the customer's The edges of the shells coincide, and are generally used in large and medium-sized equipment, such as electricity, machinery, and medical industries.

How to choose industrial monitor

First, determine the product and engineering requirements, such as installation method, size, panel structure, signal type and LCD screen performance.

1. The installation method is divided into rack-mounted, flip-chip, embedded, open and module.


Shelf-mounted industrial displays are used in industrial control cabinets, chassis and other equipment. The chassis is generally in units of U, and 1U is equivalent to 44CM. Commonly used 4U, 6U, 8U, etc.


Inverted industrial display is flipped from the back of the cabinet, and the front of the cabinet only displays the LCD display area.


Embedded industrial display is directly embedded from the front of the cabinet, and fixed on the side with a hook.

5. LCD screen performance


Brightness: Since most flat panel displays are used in an indoor environment, the brightness is about 250 to 300cd / m2 (nits), and the LCD with a diagonal size of 15 inches is the most commonly used. However, this brightness level display It cannot meet the requirements for use in an industrial environment. This is because the ambient light will be stronger, and its brightness can easily exceed the brightness of the LCD backlight. Moreover, touch screens are often used in industrial environments, which also reduces the brightness of the display and makes it appear dark. In general medical, industrial and public telephone booths and other applications, the required brightness must reach at least 450 cd / m2.


Contrast: Unlike consumer displays, which are mainly used for direct viewing, for industrial-grade displays, users may not be viewing at the best distance or under ideal lighting conditions, so a higher-contrast display is the best choice. For 10.4-inch, 12.1-inch, or 15-inch displays used in most industrial fields, a 450: 1 contrast ratio is ideal.


Color:


In some industrial applications, special color information is more important than text or numbers, it is very important to use the measured color as a control of the percentage of NTSC color saturation. In LCD products, color saturation is completely dependent on the influence of backlight. CCF (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Screen) backlight is a very popular technology, and can reach 70% and 80% of NTSC color saturation.

Commercial and consumer displays are usually designed for single use sitting directly in front of the display. In most industrial applications, this situation is very rare, for example, physicians or nurses cannot stop during the diagnosis and treatment to directly watch the monitor, they just want to know the expected data. For large machines, it is simply impossible to operate directly in front of the display. For navigation of a ship or an aircraft, it is also inconvenient for the pilot to sit directly in front of the LCD. Especially when there are multiple displays, they all face the viewer at different angles.


The monitor should have a wide viewing angle, or it can be thought of as "you can understand what is displayed at a glance." Consumer displays generally cannot meet this requirement because they use twisted nematic technology (Twisted Nematic), so the viewing angle is limited. In order to better adapt to industrial applications, it is required that the display has a wide viewing angle, and display technologies (such as ASV or MVA) with a viewing angle of up to 178 ° have been developed.


Backlight life


Cold cathode fluorescent (CCF) lamp is the most commonly used backlight light source in LCD. In industrial applications, the life time of CCF backlights is generally at least 50 000 hours, or the time when the brightness drops to half compared with the new one. In many consumer applications, the time when the brightness of the backlight drops to half of its initial brightness is only 10,000 hours.


Because consumer applications do not require continuous display operation, a CCF backlight life of 10 000 hours is sufficient, but this is not the case in most industrial and medical applications. The life of the backlight is very low compared to the life of the LCD. People are trying to double the lifespan of backlights, but in most industrial applications, a minimum lifespan of 50,000 hours is considered the lifespan standard for CCF backlights.
